Last week, we organised a health talk for adolescent school girls in 3 schools at Sefwi Akpafu, Sefwi Krobomanhyia and Sefwi Kojovi in Ghana.
The session provided an opportunity to talk about periods and menstrual hygiene and to address pressing issues such as the exploitation of young girls and child labour.

After the talk, we provided free Sanitary menstrual pads to all the girls from upper primary to junior high who had started menstruating, and urged the pupils to break the stigma surrounding menstruation. This is something that we would continue doing every month for all the girls, and also hope to expand to other schools in the near future.
We hope to empower women and girls, ensure their well-being, allow them to pursue their education with confidence, and help reduce waste.
